The Aalto University Excellence Scholarship is awarded as tuition fee waivers that cover the full tuition fee to the highest-achieving applicants based on the program’s evaluation criteria. It does not cover living costs, so students are required to manage living expenses and other study-related costs. The scholarship application is submitted as part of the general admission application. This scholarship applies to both bachelor’s and master’s programs.

This merit-based scholarship is for the second and following years, based on students’ previous academic performance. It covers 50% of tuition fees for master’s students in the second year, and for bachelor students, it covers 50% of the tuition fees for both the second and third years. Earning a minimum of 55 credits during the first study year is required for a master’s student to receive this scholarship; similar conditions apply to bachelor’s students. An average score of 3.0 or higher is sought on a grading scale of 1-5.

This scholarship offers tuition fee waivers of 50% or 100% of the tuition fee. Living costs are not included, which means students need to finance them from their own funds. Tuition fee waivers are granted to top students based on academic assessment, taking into account the general master’s degree entrance requirements, academic merit and success in previous studies, and motivation to study in a master’s program at the University of Helsinki.

The University of Turku offers an Early Bird discount of €2000 for newly admitted master’s students if they accept their study offer and pay their tuition fee within a certain timeframe. It is not available to bachelor’s applicants.
